Female-Led Innovation in Agriculture and Rural Areas

Four people standing in a green field making heart shapes with their hands against a blue sky.

The University of Galway led research project runs across 10 EU countries and focuses on enhancing the role of women in agriculture, rural life, and affairs.

The Horizon Europe project proposes a unique approach to improve understanding, awareness and recognition of women’s role in a more sustainable rural future, as well as developing more effective policy and governance frameworks that can support and enhance the capacity of women who live and work in these areas.

CEO of Galway Rural Development Steve Dolan is on the advisory board of FLIARA https://fliara.eu/advisory-board/ and  Galway Rural Development plays a full role in supporting the work of Professor Maura Farrell of the University of Galway and the FLIARA team on this innovative project.
