Galway Rural Development Company is committed to enhancing the capacity of rural communities to participate in the economic and social development of their area. Through a partnership approach, it will empower and assist marginalised and socially excluded groups to overcome disadvantage and enhance their quality of life.
Funded under the National Development Plan 2007- 2013 to improve the quality of life in rural areas and to encourage diversification of economic activity.
A series of measures designed to counter disadvantage and to promote equality and social and economic inclusion.
This Scheme provides for low-income farmers and fishermen who are unable to earn an adequate living from their farm holding/fishing, to earn a supplementary income.
Funding from the Department of Transport for the provision of transport services in the NE Galway area.
Providing practical help in modernising people houses and through the Alzheimers Association providing respite care for people who are caring for relatives suffering from Alzheimers.
Home-Start Athenry is voluntary group in which volunteers visit families with young children in their own home, offering friendship, emotional support and practical help.
