'Make the Link' is a series of FREE Education, Training and Information events that will take place in Tuam, Loughrea, Gort and Ballinasloe this year. Galway Rural Development Galway and Roscommon ETB and Department of Social Protection work together with other service providers to bring information on training courses, education opportunities, supports available, welfare entitlements, WorkAbility, CE, Tús and Rural Social Schemes.

The events take place:

Tuesday 10th June -Lough Rea Hotel and Spa, Loughrea

Wednesday 11th June - Ard Ri Hotel, Tuam 

Thursday 12th June - Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe 

Friday 13th June - Lady Gregory  Hotel, Gort

This is a great opportunity for you to meet and ‘link in ‘with employers, education and training agencies, all under one roof, and get useful information and advice with many free courses available.

Ballinasloe Lions Club together with the HSE are holding a SafeTALK training programme to help you recognise and engage with people who may be having thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide first aid resources.

The training will take place on Saturday 5th of April at 10am in Clonfert Family Centre, Ballinasloe. Booking is necessary

Congratulations to all the ladies who completed our 4-week ' Cooking Across Cultures ' course in the Family Centre in Tuam. A very warm thank you to all of you for sharing your amazing recipes and cultures with us and letting us experience foods from Jordan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Kurdistan and Bangladesh over the last 4 weeks. Thank you to all our partners who made this project a success. A collaboration with the SICAP team from Galway Rural Development, North Galway Family Services, Youth Work Ireland and the Galway County Council Integration team.

Our SICAP team took part in the HSE Making Every Contact Count - Enhancing Your Skills Brief Intervention Skills Workshop in February and a huge thank you to the Health Promotion and Improvement officers Pat Conway and Maeve Conneely for the excellent training.
