About The Oesophageal Cancer Fund
The Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) Established in 2001 is a registered charity and voluntary organisation, which has grown to be the national voice representing oesophageal cancer in Ireland. Our aim is to raise awareness of the symptoms related to oesophageal cancer, provide funding for research into Oesophageal Cancer and help improve the outcomes for people dealing with this cancer. We are looking for a volunteer Area Organiser for Ballinasloe to co ordinate Lollipop Day volunteers at the various collection points in the town. Lollipop Day takes place Friday 26th and Saturday 27th February.
This is a fun day and at the same time helping to raise a greater awareness of oesophageal cancer in your community. What’s Involved •Manage the Oesophageal Cancer Fund volunteers who are collecting in your local community • Provide volunteer collectors with sufficient Lollipop Day supplies including Posters, lollipops, pins which you will be provided with by the OCF• Help set up volunteers at their collection point • At the end of the day ensure all lollipop supplies are cleared from the various collection points • Bank the proceeds raised from Lollipop Day.

What's required for this position
Ability to work as part of a team • Good interpersonal skills • Good organisational skills Desirable. An understanding of, and commitment to the ethos of volunteering. Fluency in English is required for this role
