Galway Rural Development - Thursday, August 17, 2017

Galway Rural Development are seeking Expression of Interests for the STEPS programme which we hope to roll out in October/November 2017.

The programme takes 3 full days to complete but can be done over 2 weeks by splitting the workshop in 1 and a half days over the 2 weeks.

STEPS is a programme that offers you a chance to change your outlook on life both personally and professionally by providing you with the tools to make change.

The programme helps you clearly set goals and presents you with the information to achieve what you once taught may not be possible.

While boosting your self-confidence the course also help you beat those negative thoughts and work your way towards success. The course is very well presented and easy to understand.

A GRD staff member attended the course in the past and has reported that they gained skills in critical thinking and it has helped them focus on long term goals.

The programme has been used for Local community groups in ways to strengthen grassroots change initiatives in community regeneration projects, along with a renewed sense of possibility and community; enhancing participation in and ownership of local initiatives.

Due to the limited number of places available on this programme, only 1 member from a group can attend.

STEPS® is a recognised learning route for the NCFE Level 2 Award in

Developing Effective Thinking Skills (QCF) in England, Wales and Northern

Ireland. In Scotland the Level 2 Award has been credited

and levelled against SCQF at level 5, also with a value

of 2 credits, again through the awarding body NCFE.
