Description:

Both positions will be in Galway City. This is a developmental opportunity, no experience is necessary.  Accredited training will be provided to support your career.  Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties:

Provide care to clients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer/Dementia at both the day centres in Knocknacarra and Merlin Park on a Tue and Wed which will amount to approx. 13 hours.  The remaining 6½ hours will be providing homecare to clients in their own home. 

The second position will involve working at a day centre in either Merlin Park or Knocknacarra for approx. 6 hours and the remaining 13½ will be spend on home care.

Applicants must have an interest in a caring role, as duties will include personal care, feeding the clients, engaging in activities which is suited to meet the client’s individual needs and taking the clients for walks.  Also, accompanying the clients on the bus to/from the day centres.  Applicants must respect the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all clients.
