Bealtaine in Galway 2016 - Submit your Event

Galway Rural Development - Monday, February 08, 2016

The month of May belongs to the Bealtaine festival, celebrating creativity in older age!  Thousands of older people now take part in the Bealtaine festival.  From dance to cinema, painting to theatre, Bealtaine showcases the talents and creativity of both first-time and professional older artists.

This year Galway County Council & Galway City Council as part of its Age Friendly Cultural Programme has again decided to produce a Galway Bealtaine Brochure to highlight and create awareness of the many wonderful events and activities taking place throughout Galway.  We are inviting groups and organisations to host an event during May to celebrate Bealtaine.  We will include your event in the Brochure.

There is more information and a form to submit an event attached to this email or visit www.galway.ie/bealtaine or phone 091 509580/509584.

The deadline for submitting an event is 15 March 2016.

Note: If your group (County Galway only, excluding the City) requires funding to hold a Bealtaine event, please apply for funding under the “Community Support Scheme 2016”.  Application forms and guidelines are available on www.galway.ie/en/services/artsoffice/funding/communitysupport/ or telephone 091 509580/509584.  4pm Thursday 25th February is the deadline for this funding.

Welcome to the Galway Rural Development website. Galway Rural Development, through the programmes we administer, will continue to work along with other agencies, groups and individuals around the county to improve the quality of life for all citizens in our area. We especially wish to work with those who are most in need of assistance, to provide real opportunities for people to gain significant improvements for themselves and their communities throughout rural Galway.
