    The company wishes to recruit for the following full-time position

    Rural Resource Officer

    The Rural Resource Officer will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme, working with disadvantaged farm families and socially isolated rural dwellers. This will include: initiating pilot training programmes specific to the needs of disadvantaged farm families; liaising and networking with relevant statutory bodies and farming organisations/agencies in exploring options for farmers both on and off-farm.

     

    The successful candidate will have:

     

         The chosen candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of agriculture and developmental/rural issues affecting communities, but especially smallholders and low-income farm families.

         S/he will ideally have a relevant Professional qualification.

         Excellent communication and people skills including ability to work on one’s own initiative and as part of a team.

         Good IT skills.

         Report writing and business planning skills.  

     Fl Fluency in Irish an advantage
