Small Business and Enterprise
Galway Rural Development supports the development of new and alternative sources of income and we work alongside entrepreneurs, self employed individuals, community enterprises and farmers in an attempt to enhance their development potential.
For those individuals who qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit or for those unemployed for more than a year and eligible for Jobseeker's Allowance, our Enterprise Officer can provide the following supports to those wishing to set up their own business:
- individual advice and guidance to all applicants
- entrepreneurship and business development
- objective and confidential service to clients which encourage clients to be open about their work history and any issues which might present themselves in the development of their business
- organise action and co-ordination of training and mentoring programmes
- small grant support to clients
- access to other supports from outside agencies for clients and acting as intermediaries for clients in their dealings with other support agencies
