Basic services for the economy and rural population

The focus of this measure is to identify and provide appropriate, cultural, leisure facilities to local communities which may not otherwise be available to them.

GRD will support groups to assess deficits in services essential to the successful functioning of the rural economy

Examples of activities that can be supported include:

• The upgrade of new and existing community facilities/halls to ensure that the facility is accessible to all members of the community.
• Playgrounds facilities to cater for a range of age groups.
• Cultural activities/facilities.
• Bus shelters in conjunction with the North East Galway Rural Transport Programme.
