Glinsk
Glinsk is situated on the north eastern corner of County Galway. Located in the valley of the River Suck, the area consists mainly of limestone and there are also large areas of raised bogland. The Suck Valley Way walking trail passes through the parish. Lakes connected with the River Suck provide an ideal resourse for the coarse angler.
Glinsk Castle, reputed to be the last castle built in this country, stands as an impressive reminder of the architectural skills and styles of the Norman era, while nearby Ballinakill Abbey holds the remains of the earliest Gothic church in Connacht.
