Dunmore
Dunmore (Dún Mór, or Large Fort) is in North County Galway, 8 miles north of Tuam and near the borders of Roscommon and Mayo. Dunmore is surrounded by beautiful countryside with old stone walls enclosing many fields outside the town limits and coniferous forests in Cappagh, Lisduff and Drimbane areas. The Sinking River runs through the town and is suitable for fishing.
There are some interesting heritage sites around the town, such as the old Castle and the Augustinian Abbey.
