Ballinasloe
Ballinasloe, in East Galway, lies at the most southerly crossing point of the River Suck before its confluence with the Shannon, which occurs several miles to the Southeast at Shannonbridge. This crossing point carries the main Galway-Dublin road and the Galway-Dublin railway also passes through the town. Ballinasloe is primarily a market town and is now principally recognised for the Great October Fair. It is also recognised as a manufacturing centre, and a regional centre for the provision of health care and education.
