Children and Youth

Much of the community work which takes place in County Galway is centered upon supporting Children and Young People.  This is carried out through discussions with families and with young people to identify what supports are required within the Community

Our Community Development Officers work alongside other agencies to identify specific needs for children and young people and put in place appropriate plans and initiatives to fulfill these requirements. 

This service aims to tackle many issues including underperformance at school due to learning difficulties or special needs and in the case of older children social issues which can often result in low self esteem and early school leaving.

It also aims to address social issues related to rural isolation by providing community facilities, playgrounds and training.
